TELUS Digital Launches Research Hub at University of São Paulo to Expand AI Efforts

TELUS Digital, a leading technology company, has recently announced the launch of the TELUS Digital Research Hub at the University of São Paulo (USP), focusing on expanding its artificial intelligence research efforts. This exciting initiative, set to open on March 18, 2025, will be located within USP’s Center for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (CIAAM) and will receive a $1 million investment over three years from TELUS Digital.

The research hub will concentrate on AI model development, security, and governance, with a dedicated Steering Committee overseeing its operations. This committee will include academic and industry leaders, ensuring alignment with global standards. Renato Vicente, Director of the TELUS Digital Research Hub, expressed his enthusiasm for this partnership, emphasizing the company’s commitment to advancing AI research and development responsibly.

In addition to funding research projects, the TELUS Digital Research Hub will provide opportunities for undergraduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and visiting scholars to engage in AI-focused initiatives. This investment in AI talent will not only benefit the research hub but also contribute to the development of future AI leaders.

The São Paulo facility will complement TELUS Digital’s existing research and development hubs, further strengthening the company’s global presence.
