Salesforce and IBM Enhance Collaboration, Focus on Advancements in AI and Data Technology

Salesforce and IBM Expand Strategic Partnership: Enhancing AI and Data Offerings for Customers

Salesforce and IBM have recently announced an expansion of their strategic partnership, aiming to deliver greater customer choice and flexibility in their AI and data offerings. By combining IBM’s Watsonx AI and Data Platform with Salesforce’s Einstein software, the companies believe that customers will be able to make more informed, data-driven decisions and access actions directly from their workflow.

One of the key features of this collaboration is the enhancement of Large Language Models (LLMs). Salesforce’s customizable Bring Your Own LLM strategy will be boosted by watsonx.ai and Einstein Studio integrations, providing users with even greater flexibility through low-code AI builders. Customers will also have access to IBM Granite, a series of AI models trained on enterprise datasets with strict data governance standards and intellectual property protection.

Ritika Gunnar, General Manager of Product Management, Data, and AI at IBM, emphasized the importance of enterprise-grade foundation models for clients, highlighting the collaboration’s focus on providing trusted, performant, and cost-effective solutions.

Another exciting aspect of the partnership is the development of industry-specific prompt templates and copilot actions, set to be available in Einstein Studio. These pre-built actions and prompts will enhance applications like Einstein Copilot, initially focusing on public sector use cases but with plans to expand to other industries.

In addition to these new features, Salesforce has announced its Summer 2024 release, featuring generative AI (GenAI) and access to LLMs on an open platform. IBM has also been making headlines with its collaboration with SAP, aiming to enhance client productivity and innovation through their “New Value Generation partnership” centered on GenAI and industry-specific cloud solutions.

Overall, the expanded partnership between Salesforce and IBM promises to bring significant advancements in AI and data capabilities, providing customers with the tools they need to make data-driven decisions and deliver exceptional customer experiences. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting collaboration and the innovative solutions it will bring to the tech world.
